Established in 2018, our award-winning Minis and Juniors section now has over 170 boys and girls aged 5–13 — and we’re growing every year! In 2020, we launched Cainy Tots to introduce 3- and 4-year-olds to the wonderful world of rugby in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.
At Cainscross, we believe rugby is about more than just sport. It’s about teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline, and sportsmanship, values we build into everything we do. We want every child to have fun, make friends, and fall in love with rugby, whatever their experience or ability.
Our friendly, DBS-checked coaches bring a wealth of playing experience and enthusiasm to every session, helping every player to learn, grow, and shine.
When We Play
Our season runs from the first Sunday in September to the second Sunday in May, with a short break over Christmas. We train every Sunday morning between 9:30am and 12:15pm (weather and pitch conditions permitting).
After training, every child gets a hot dog - a well-earned reward! We also have bacon rolls, drinks, and snacks available for parents and supporters. If your child has any dietary requirements, please let us know.

Victory Park, Cainscross, Stroud GL5 4JE
Free parking is available next to the park and at St Matthews School.
How to Join
Come along on a Sunday and try a couple of sessions for free - no pressure, just rugby fun! If your child enjoys it (and we’re sure they will), we’ll help you get registered online. Just ask one of our friendly coaches or volunteers for details.
What to Bring
- A drink and suitable sportswear or warm/waterproof clothing
- No hooded tops or zips for safety reasons
- Rugby or football boots for Minis and Juniors (Cainy Tots can wear trainers or wellies)
- Gumshields are required for Under 9s and above during contact training and matches
- Inhalers (if your child has asthma)
